Wubi on Windows 7

If you install Ubuntu using Wubi Installer on Windows 7, then having problem when booting to Ubuntu with error like: Try (hd0,0) NTFS5 No wubildr

Don't worry!!!

You need to wait for a while, until it boot you to Ubuntu.

After successfully booted to Ubuntu, then you need to copy the wubildr and wubildr.mbr to the correct partition.

Here is how to do it:

1. Copy the wubildr and wubildr.mbr files from your Windows partition:

C:\wubildr
C:\wubildr.mbr

or from your Ubuntu installed folder; for example

C:\ubuntu\winboot\wubildr
C:\ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr

2. Click on the Places tab, then choose Computer.

Look for partition called System Reserved, and open it.

Then copy the wubildr and wubildr.mbr into the partition.

Reboot your computer. Choose Ubuntu, now no more waiting time or Try (hd0,0) No wubildr error, it goes straight to GRUB loader.
